Rockport Mortgage Corporation Donates $20,000 to Support Enrichment Programs for At-Risk Teens Across the Country

Former New England Patriot Matt Light’s 4th Annual Fools’ Night Out Comedy Fundraiser Scheduled for Saturday, April 1st

Gloucester, MA…Former New England Patriot Matt Light, today announced that Rockport Mortgage Corporation, (RMC) has signed on as the $20,000 title sponsor for The Light Foundation’s 4th annual Fools’ Night Out to be held on Saturday, April 1st 2017 at Gillette Stadium’s Showcase Live theater.

Proceeds will benefit The Light Foundation, a nonprofit organization that gives at-risk kids a better chance of leading healthy, productive lives. Since its inception in 2001, nearly 150 teenage boys from across the country have participated in Light’s Camp Vohokase, located at the Foundation’s Chenoweth Trails facility in Greenville, Ohio. There, they are taught the values of leadershio through hard work, responsibility, accountability and a commitment to community service. In addition to running Camp Vohokase, The Light Foundation also provides college scholarships and runs an annual day-long high school leadership conference in Massachusetts. In addition, more than 4000 individuals use Chenoweth Trails each year for a variety of programs, youth initiatives and community events.

“Dan Lyons and his team at Rockport Mortgage Corporation share our commitment to building stronger, and healthier communities,” noted three-time Super Bowl Champion Matt Light, “We are delighted that they are once again continuing to support our mission and have a little fun in the process!”

“I have had the opportunity to see firsthand the impact that Matt and his foundation have had on these teens,” noted Dan Lyons, Managing Partner of Rockport Mortgage Corporation. “Unlike many programs, Matt’s campers are followed through all four years of high school to ensure consistency of message and continued follow-up.”

Fools’ Night Out brings together Light’s former teammates, some of this year’s Super Bowl Champions, local celebrities and laugh-deprived adults for an exclusive evening featuring Boston’s top comedy headliners. It has sold out the last three years, and if the early response is any indication, it is expected to draw a big crowd this year as well.

Comics scheduled to appear are Lenny Clarke, Graig Murphy, Christine Hurley, Dave Russo, Tony V, Steve Sweeney and Robbie Printz with more to be added along the way. Throughout the evening, Light will share locker room audibles about some of the legendary pranks he's played on former teammates and coaches. He'll open the "Light Vault", filled with never-before-seen videos of some of his favorite practical jokes - and he'll have some New England Patriots on hand to give their own version of a play-by-play.
