A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all our sponsors, our shooting participants, the vendors, exhibitors, restaurants, food trucks, donors, volunteers and all the celebrities who came out to make it the great day that it was! It was a fantastic event that raised nearly 700k for The Light Foundation!
Even in the face of Tropical Storm Jose, the tournament on September 19th was filled with enthusiastic participants ready to embrace the weather for all kinds of exciting activities in the morning, like: fly fishing with Orvis and Fin &Feather, archery by Bass Pro Shops, and Mike Higgins’ chainsaw sculptures. Our Exhibition Tent showcased gun companies like Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Sig Sauer, Savage Arms, and other vendors like Gooseman Gamecalls, 1620 Workwear, Rolling Stogies, Orvis, Fin & Feather, Ball & Buck, Ed Snyder, Big Bear Hunting, Rustic Marlin, Swarovski Optik, and Kawasaki. Former Patriots players in attendance including Logan Mankins, Rob Ninkovich, Troy Brown, Niko Koutouvides, Bill Matthews, Joe Andruzzi, Russ Hochstein, Jim Bowman and Jon Williams took part in a variety of activities ranging from shooting sporting clays on the course in the tournament. Our new sponsor Savage Arms set up a rifle range for participants to enjoy as well.
The Shoot-Out runs on Dunkin’!! The Dunkin’ Donuts booth was set up early to get everyone revved up at the Registration Kiosk. Thanks, Dunkin’, for the coffee and donuts!
This year’s food theme was a favorite all around, “Shooting with the Chefs!” We added in food trucks, more top restaurants, and amazing chefs this year. Our first food truck was O’Crepe who served up warm, fresh-off-the-griddle crepes in the morning, Nutella with strawberries was one of the hottest items!
The Hot Shot Contest drew a record crowd as celebrities like Logan Mankins, Rob Ninkovich, Simon Schnapir, Bill Matthews, Lenny Clarke, and David Andrews tested their skills against each other with Bill Matthews claiming victory this year!
Lunch was graciously donated and prepared by four of Boston’s top chefs and restaurants, Anthony Caturano with Prezza, Neal Maver with Tonno, Tim Reading with Alta Strada, and Evan Deluty with Stella. They served meatball sliders, gem salad, house-made stracciatella sandwiches with heirloom tomatoes and basil pesto, and orecchiette with venison Bolognese and porcini cream. Thank you to all our participating lunch chefs and restaurants!
Everyone headed out on the course after David Andrews lit the cannon for the ceremonial start to the tournament. We added an awesome food truck, Baby’s Bonetown BBQ, who served brisket, pulled pork and more on the course for a mid-tournament snack.
After the tournament, our amazing band, The Sultans, took the stage and played music for supporters to enjoy as appetizers provided by Island Creek Oyster Bar, Row 34, Island Creek Oyster Farm, and Arteflame were enjoyed by all. The crowd devoured 800 oysters in an hour! Thank you to all our wonderful appetizer vendors! Matt, Lenny, and Tony V kicked off the Live Auction while drinks flowed from our longtime vendors, Three Olives Vodka, Harpoon, FitVine Wine, Keel Vodka, Pepsi, Coke, and Hint Water. Dinner, once again, was very generously donated by Chris Scott and The Capital Grille – thank you Chris! Everyone enjoyed their signature steak and lobster mac and cheese…unbelievable!
Dessert was provided by the ever-so-popular Crescent Ridge and Sarcastic Sweets as seen on Food Network’s Sweet Genius Season 3. Cherryhill Flowers helped spruce up our décor with rustic centerpieces that included custom wooden blocks for our sponsor tables from Rustic Marlin. After the silent auction closed, we topped off the night dancing away to some great live music!
Thank you for supporting the Light Foundation and for making the 13th year anniversary of the Shoot-Out a Huge Success!
A special boomingthanks to our generous Sponsors:
